Case Study – Our Warehouses Service Customers Near Ports & More
In today’s entangled supply chain, it is inevitable that most industries must import or export goods. Of course, this adds several layers of planning and costs. Depending on your location from the port, it might also require some creative logistics problem-solving. We help customers find flexible, reliable solutions to these logistics challenges.
One example of a Transload Now client that imports goods is Evan. Evan is a freight broker with a customer that imports goods from Asia and directly deliveries the palletized freight to the final purchaser. Evan’s customer only buys bulk orders from the manufacturer after they have several customers that place purchase orders.
Transload Now warehouses help Evan’s customer coordinate delivery of the containers at port to the warehouse, unload the pallets, store them for 0-3 days, and then ship the pallets to the final customers via their preferred mode of transportation.
Sometimes, we receive more than one container per import and then separate the loads to go to different job sites in the outbound shipments.
Our goal is to help Evan’s goods flow smoothly from the port to the end customers. Here’s how we do it:
- Goods are imported to the Port of Los Angeles.
- Containers deliver and are unloaded to Transload Now warehouse.
- When customers are ready, the warehouse ships the goods that the customer ordered on delivery trucks that they can receive and unload.
